Caring for Camp Workday

Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri invites your company and team members to a Caring for Camp Corporate Workday on April 9 at Camp Prairie Schooner. Please feel free to share this email with others in your company!
This meaningful, hands-on volunteer opportunity would be great for corporate groups looking to strengthen team engagement, build community, and support youth development in a direct and impactful way. During this service day, your employees will work alongside our property and program teams to help prepare camp for a transformative summer season that serves thousands of Girl Scouts.
Project Opportunities (Intensity Levels 1–5)
Teams will be matched with projects based on interest and comfort level:
  • Permanent Site Clean-Up – removing debris, sweeping, leaf blowing (Intensity 2)
  • Cast Iron Cleaning & Seasoning (Intensity 2)
  • Staining Neal & Owl’s Nest Decks (Intensity 1–2)
  • Repainting Neal Dock & Basement Doors (Intensity 1–2)
  • Power Washing Backflow Container (Intensity 3)
  • Log Splitting & Stacking Firewood (Intensity 5)
  • Aquatics & Trail Center Restroom Painting (Intensity 3)
  • Mulch Spreading along pathways & program areas (Intensity 3)
  • Picnic Table Board Replacement (Intensity 4)
All tools, supplies, safety gear, and staff support will be provided.
Scheduling
Participants may sign up for a morning shift, afternoon shift, or full-day experience.
Snacks, drinks, and water will be available, and lunch is provided for full-day volunteers.
