"Perhaps you've just been promoted to a supervisory role. Or perhaps your promotion is not so recent, but you could still use some help in the transition to leading others. 

Either way, this three-part training is for you. Led by top experts from OMNI’s HR Consulting Team, participants will meet via Zoom on three consecutive Thursdays (November 2nd, 9th, and 16th) to gain information and valuable insights on the major building blocks of becoming an effective supervisor and team leader. 

Because each session will build upon the previous one, participants must register for and attend all three sessions. Scroll down for details about each session. 

Session 1: Supervisory Success – the Basics 

Thursday, November 2nd, 8:30 – 9:30 am (Central Time) 

Presenter: Jon Binder, Senior Consultant & Compensation Practice Leader 

Many supervisors are, for the first time ever, taking on the responsibility of “managing” people. In this session, we’ll provide helpful and important context for what it means to “manage” others. We’ll also explore the essentials of successful people management and provide helpful reference tools regarding labor laws. This session is designed to put the supervisor on the right track for continued management success. 

Session 2: Supervisory Success – the Coach Within 

Thursday, November 9th, 8:30 – 9:30 am 

Presenter: Nancy Miller, Senior Consultant 

Your journey in supervision includes not only “managing” people, but also coaching individuals and teams. Learn what it means to be a coach, the traits of effective coaches, and steps to successful coaching. A brief survey will help you assess your current proficiency with motivating employees and identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth. You’ll also be offered a framework for how to handle high-stakes, crucial conversations so they can be positive and goal oriented. 

Session 3: Supervisory Success – Empowering Teams Thursday, 

November 16th, 8:30 – 9:30 am 

Presenter: Tiffany Fercho, Senior Consultant 

As a supervisor, you need to engage employees to meet and exceed expectations. Getting work done through others is now the key. In this session, you’ll gain self-awareness of what leadership behaviors you need to embody to motivate and engage people as individuals and a team – sparking them to action. We will explore how you can leverage existing systems within your workplace to develop a leadership roadmap for success.
