Foulston Employment Law Institute – Session 4

Thursday, April 22, 2021 (11:30 AM - 1:30 PM) (CDT)

Description

Foulston's Employment Law Institute (Webinar Series) brings together human resource professionals, business owners, executives, managers, and in-house counsel from a wide range of industries to learn about the latest legal developments, best practices, and strategies to make their organizations legally compliant and employers of choice. We have packaged our usual one-day live seminar into a series of webinars to cover the same variety of topics but delivered to your desktop in bite-sized sessions.

Live sessions are scheduled every Thursday in April. Registrants will receive downloadable materials to use as a desk resource and will also have access to view recorded versions of all sessions online at their convenience.

Session 4 (live presentation on Thursday, April 22, 2021)

Part 1: Navigating Complex Leaves of Absence: Balancing FMLA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation Requirements
Presented by Teresa Shulda and Morgan Geffre

Leave management can be difficult and confusing for any employer. Trying to understand the overlap between the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and workers’ compensation can be daunting at best, and ripe with legal pitfalls at worst. In this interactive, case-study-based session, we’ll examine key regulations, common issues, and employer best practices to steer clear of potential violations of state and federal law.

Part 2: All-New Employment Law Mythbusters
Presented by Boyd Byers, Charles McClellan, and Emily Matta

We’re back to put more pieces of common HR and employment related wisdom — and you — to the test. What’s true? What’s a myth? Join us in this interactive session to find out! As Mark Twain famously said, “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”

Continuing Education Credit:
HRCI, SHRM, and CLE credit will be requested for registered live webinar participants. Participation and individual attendance for the full credit hour(s) at the live webinar presentation are required for continuing education credit. Enrollment is open for corporate and government counsel. Attorneys in private practice require prior approval.
