Advent Health Sports Park at BluHawk is an incredible 250,000 square foot indoor sports and entertainment destination. Located in the heart of the Bluhawk development in Overland Park, KS this facility will be within walking distance of premium restaurants, retail, and hotels. Overland Park a Southern suburb of Kansas City. This entertainment Mecca also hosts Top Golf, iFly, Dave & Buster’s, and many more powerhouse entertainment destinations in the immediate area. 

 

Advent Health Sports Park at BluHawk will be a fully integrated, first-class facility with an ice rink, indoor courts, a full-sized indoor turf field, all of which will feature basketball, volleyball, dance, gymnastics, cheer, soccer, lacrosse, flag football, baseball, softball, adult recreational sports, trade shows, meetings, concerts, and community events. The family entertainment center features a redemption arcade, bowling, adventure elements, virtual reality, retail, food and beverage and other offerings, family-friendly activities, and is the perfect place to host a corporate or social special event. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Finance Manager is responsible for the oversight of all finances involved at the Advent Health Sports Park at BluHawk. The Finance Manager follows corporate policy while directing and coordinating venue financial activities such as, protecting assets by planning and completing financial audits/reviews, identifying ineffective internal controls, recommending improvements, performing high-level business analysis, interviewing and training finance staff, and additional duties as assigned by the General Manager. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: 

  • Manages and supervises any human resources, bookkeeping and administrative staff 

  • Focuses on process improvements, operations and efficiencies in order to maximize profitability and continued aggressive growth 

  • Serves as a collaborative business partner to all departments; provides financial counsel and perspective in helping managers identify potential weak areas, analyze revenue and expenses, and resolve problems that impact the overall performance of Esmeralda 

  • Manages the overall closing process on a monthly basis; ensuring books are closed accurately and in a timely manner 

  • Prepares consolidated financial statements, pro-forma reports, and dashboards for review and distribution to management and clients 

  • Performs financial analysis and investigates variances on financial statements 

  • Ensures all cash is deposited and accounted for in a timely manner; managing all bank accounts and merchant accounts 

  • Ensures AP is approved, entered, and paid in a timely manner; taking advantage of discounts where appropriate and maximizing cash flow 

  • Ensures all AR is entered, balanced, invoiced, and collected in a timely manner; managing collection efforts to maximize cash flow 

  • Manages the chart of accounts; ensuring new accounts are appropriate and reflected in the financial statements 

  • Reviews all Esmeralda financial systems and internal controls for weaknesses; implementing changes as needed 

  • Assesses compliance with financial regulations and controls by executing review/audit program steps; testing general ledger, account balances, balance sheets, income statements, and related financial statements; examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation 

  • Prepares quarterly rolling forecasts and annual budgets 

  • Supports all risk management, legal, and compliance initiatives 

  • Assists in preparation of income tax returns 

  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential 

  • Accomplishes human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures 

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations 

  • Participates in planning/strategic meetings 

  • Develops operational Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports 

  • Various other duties as required 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance required 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience and 3 years' supervisory experience 

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred 

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principle and procedures 

  • Knowledge and experience using QuickBooks 

  • Strong computer skills- proficient in MS Excel 

  • Well organized and able manage multiple projects on a routine basis 

  • Comfortable in a dynamic and fast paced environment 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high 

  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend 

  • Will be required to operate a computer 

  • Facility has intermittent noise"
