The Overland Park Chamber is pleased to present its Executive Leadership Series of breakfast programs that feature top executives sharing insights on career and personal success. Please join us for the first Executive Leadership Series breakfast of 2025 featuring Courtney Kounkel, Founder & Owner of Monarch Build.

Courtney is a construction industry executive and entrepreneur having founded, grown and successfully sold several companies. In 2017, she founded Monarch Build, a regional commercial general contractor focused on community and client relationships with an emphasis in the education, healthcare, hospitality, sports and recreation, office and retail markets. Monarch projects include CPKC Stadium, the first stadium built specifically for a women’s professional sports team.

Courtney has been recognized as a “Woman Who Means Business” and a "NextGen Leader” by the Kansas City Business Journal and selected as a “40 Under Forty” emerging leader and a “WeKC: Kansas City Woman Executive” by Ingram’s Magazine.

She was also honored by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce as an Aspirational Entrepreneur and ERN Midwest as a Top 20 under 40 Honoree. Active in the not-for-profit community, Courtney currently serves as a Board of Director for the Midwest Innocence Project, Planet Play KC and AIA Kansas. Previously she has severed in various leadership positions for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, Just Like You Films and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
