The Bid & the Ask:
Building Investor Relationships
Building Investor Relationships
What makes a business investable, and how do you communicate its potential to an investor? Learn what investors look for, strengthen your pitch, and build meaningful connections!
Are you looking to fund your next stage of growth, launch a startup, or explore angel investing? Join the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Social Balances, for an interactive conversation featuring two real investment stories: one that recently closed and another currently navigating due diligence.
From the first conversation to a closed deal:
Daniel Cross, Founder & CEO of Kete, and Patrick Toughey, Principal at T-Serve Capital, will share how their investment came together. From their initial meeting at Invest Midwest earlier this year to negotiating a term sheet and closing the deal, they'll discuss the decisions, challenges, and lessons learned along the way.
A firsthand look at an investment in progress:
Paul Epp, Co-Founder & CEO of VOISS, and Jacob Bosch, Partner at Social Balances, are currently working through the due diligence process. They’ll share what investors look for, how founders prepare, and how both sides evaluate whether an investment is the right fit.
Through real examples, a live fundraising demonstration, and opportunities to practice, learn how to communicate your business's value, build investor relationships, and answer one of the biggest questions investors ask: "How will I get my money back?"
