Annual Meeting 2024
Annual Meeting 2024
Wednesday, December 4, 2024 (11:30 AM - 1:30 PM) (CST)
Description
Join us for our largest event of the year to celebrate the past year's successes and look to more great things in the coming year.
Agenda:
11:00-11:30 a.m. - Registration and networking
11:30-1:30 p.m. - Lunch and Program
What do you get when a brewmaster, a preacher, a politician, a contractor, a pitmaster and a pizza maker come together?
The Power of Partnership!
For our program, several community leaders will share examples of the ways finding common ground, coming together to maximize strengths and using innovation to solve problems can lead to business and community success.
#1 – Collaboration Maximizes Strengths
Three hospitality industry businesses join forces to provide the community with the full experience of local tastes and taps.
Featuring Matt Britton, Discourse Brewery and Taproom; Tyler Wigger, Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue; and Steve Robson, Buffalo State Pizza Co.
#2 – Innovation Maximizes Opportunity
For years, leaders have puzzled over how to solve the growing safety, travel time reliability and congestion issues of the U.S. 69 Highway corridor through Overland Park. The 69Express project was the innovative solution in which public and private entities came together to add toll lanes that generate revenue to offset the monumental construction investment.
Featuring Mayor Curt Skoog, City of Overland Park; Steve Hewitt, Kansas Turnpike Authority; Cameron McGown, HNTB Corporation; and Calvin Reed, Secretary of the Kansas Department of Transportation.
#3 – Civility Maximizes Problem Solving
Pastor Adam Hamilton shares the basis of Church of the Resurrection’s “Do Unto Others” kindness campaign, which focuses on the positivity of being civil to others and finding common ground to overcome public and private differences. He also shares video clips of his interview with former members of Congress Kevin Yoder and Claire McCaskill in which they discuss what’s broken in politics and model how individuals from different parties can treat one another with respect.
Invite your co-workers, friends, and associates to join us! This is an event you won't want to miss!
Registration is required. The deadline to register is noon on November 25.
