Our speaker, Mike Allison, will be providing a presentation on Harnessing the Power of Influence & Persuasion.

“Harnessing the Power of Influence and Persuasion - Professionals who inspire and lead others, regardless of title, understand the behavior science around influence.  They authentically shape the opinions of peers, stakeholders, clients, friends, and family.  No matter your skill level, you cannot be successful in advancing others forward without the art of persuasion.  During this interactive session, participants will better understand the difference between manipulation and persuasion while exploring multiple dimensions of power and political agility.  Those in attendance will leave the session with practical tools for inspiring others across all avenues of life.”

More about Mike:

Mike is the Vice President of Talent at Spotlight (Analyst Relations) where he oversees talent acquisition, leadership development, and employee growth/engagement.  Spotlight was named a Kansas City Best Place to Work (medium-sized company) by the Kansas City Business Journal in 2023, 2024, and 2025.  Ingram’s magazine bestowed similar recognition in 2025.  Mike is also an MBA Adjunct Professor and Bloch Executive Education instructor within the Bloch School at the University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC).  He frequently instructs and coaches others on diverse topics such as talent management, leading through change, emotional intelligence, holding difficult conversations, building a culture of feedback, advanced presentation skills, cultivating trust, and executive presence.
