Mark your calendars for the an inspiring celebration of student innovation and entrepreneurship! Join us on Thursday, April 30th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Culture House in Oak Park Mall for the 2026 SMSD Student Chamber Startup Showcase.


This unique event features talented student entrepreneurs and business owners competing with their 5-minute business or nonprofit pitch ideas. Public voting will take place in mid-April to determine the top five finalists who will advance to the Startup Showcase. These finalists will compete for funding to bring their Real World Learning ventures to life.


Prizes for the competition include:

  • First place: $1,100

  • Second place: $600

  • Third place: $300


This event is proudly sponsored by the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation and the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce.
